Luis Antonio Acevedo is a music and entertainment executive with over a decade of experience across Artist & Label Relations, A&R, Business Development, Music Distribution, Publishing, Rights Management, and Strategic Partnerships. His expertise lies in identifying opportunities, building meaningful industry relationships, and connecting artists, labels, managers, and companies with the resources and strategies needed to grow their businesses.
Throughout his career, Luis has worked at the intersection of music, technology, and business, developing a deep understanding of both the creative and commercial sides of the industry. His experience spans artist and label acquisition, digital distribution, publishing administration, catalog monetization, release strategy, rights management, partnership development, and revenue generation.
Most recently, Luis spent six years at Vydia, where he was recruited by CEO Roy LaManna and Co-President Mark Gorman to help expand the company's relationships with artists, labels, managers, and music industry partners. Working across Artist & Label Relations and A&R, Luis helped identify and develop new business opportunities while managing relationships across digital distribution, publishing administration, rights management, and catalog strategy.
During his time at Vydia, Luis worked cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Content Operations, and Client Services, giving him a comprehensive understanding of how a modern music technology and distribution company operates. His relationship-driven approach to business development contributed to expanding distribution and publishing opportunities and growing revenue from the six-figure level into the millions.
Luis's experience in digital music began well before the current streaming ecosystem took shape. During the early development of platforms such as Spinrilla and Audiomack, Luis helped artists utilize emerging digital outlets to distribute music, reach new audiences, and build their online presence. He also contributed to the early growth and adoption of Digital DJ Pool, working at a time when digital platforms were rapidly changing how DJs discovered and broke new records.
During this period, Luis contributed to the release and promotion of Fetty Wap's early mixtapes, Up Next and Zoo Style, helping put the music in front of digital audiences during the early stages of Fetty Wap's career. The experience gave Luis an early understanding of how emerging platforms, DJs, digital communities, and grassroots discovery could work together to build momentum around developing artists.
Unlike traditional A&R executives focused solely on talent discovery, Luis combines creative instincts and an extensive industry network with a strong understanding of business development, distribution infrastructure, publishing, technology, and monetization. This allows him to evaluate opportunities not only from an artist-development perspective, but also through the lens of long-term partnership and commercial growth.
Before and alongside his corporate career, Luis built a presence within music and media as DJ Louie Styles. His experience as a DJ, content creator, and entrepreneur has kept him connected to music at the consumer and cultural level, providing an additional perspective on audience development, digital culture, artist discovery, and the evolving relationship between music and social media.
From participating in the early digital-mixtape era to helping build partnerships within modern music distribution and technology, Luis's career has consistently centered around identifying what's next and connecting artists with opportunities for growth.
A relationship builder at his core, Luis continues to focus on creating opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, discovering talent, and helping artists and music companies build sustainable businesses in an evolving global music industry.
